Knitting and telling stories

It's good to have Grandma Barb here. I like to tell her stories while she knits my new sweater.

Yay, Grandma Barb visit!

Grandma Barb is here for a visit! It is so good to have her here.

Yeah, Grandma Barb

I can make Grandma Barb laugh by sticking my tongue out!

My dad at co-op preschool

My dad took the day off so he could go to Co-op preschool with me and my mama. First my dad and I visited Lighthouse. Then we all went to Co-op preschool - it was fun!

At Lighthouse, I took a nap while my dad read the paper.

Our homework was to make a poster for Co-op. My mama helped me with my project, and it came out so good! Thanks mama!

Here is a closer-up photo of the poster. Mom says she will get a better close-up next time we are at Co-op.

Our teacher Sarah read The Big Red Barn

My dad and I got tired, so we took a little rest.

Happy Four Month Birthday to me

Naming The Dude

My family and I went to a very fun event this morning - the naming of The Dude! Kaiam was born last week to his parents Ariella and Ian. I hope that we become very good friends.

It was a wonderful ceremony, with speeches and blessings bestowed upon Kaiam. A great party followed, with lots of people and food, and everyone was so happy. It was a great celebration.

Here is a picture, taken a few days ago, of Kaiam, aka The Dude

Here is a photo taken during the ceremony

Telling a Story

I was telling a little story earlier today. It was nothing important, but my dad took some video. I hope you enjoy my story!

A Boy and His Muskox

It's good to have a friend like my muskox Ovibus. Dad got him a few years ago in Alaska. He protects my head from hitting the posts in my changing table. He stands right there, quietly enduring jostling and bumping. He is always patient and he never complains. My dad says he is stoic.

You can see Ovibus on the job in this photo.

Here Ovibus has come out to say Hello. Or, well, he said something. He makes a sound like "Murrrumph", and sometimes I can't quite tell what he means. But that's okay, he's my pal so we don't need to talk much.

Rainy Saturday

Its really rainy here! But we're having a fun day. First we went to Lighthouse and met Seth, Anna, and Jackie there. Then Todd showed up. We were quite a crew! But my dad forgot the camera so we didn't get pictures.

Then we came home. Todd and my dad were working in the basement, so my mom took me up for a nap. After my nap, my dad took me for a nice walk in the rain.

Breakfast Talk

I like talking to my dad when he is making breakfast. My dad took some video.

Friday morning

It's easy to take pictures at Lighthouse, so we get a lot there. Here's me and my dad Friday morning. He had to go to work after this.

Making Dad's Birthday Pie

Tomorrow is my dad's birthday, so my mom made him his favorite: apple pie! I helped by giving moral support.

Zoo and naps

We had a big party at our house last night - it was fun! Today we thought we would take it easy, so we went for a walk at the zoo. It was pretty blustery but my folks said it would make me tough. We saw an elephant, some gorillas, plus lions and tigers.

The pumpkins frightened Turtle, he nearly went into his shell! So I got a little upset.

When we got home I took a couple of naps - first with mama then one with my dad.

First Halloween costume

My mama made me my first Halloween costume! I got to be The Sky! I was blue, of course, and had puffy little clouds. I wore my cloud sun hat, which was perfect. And there was a jet flying across me!

Here my mom helps me show off my costume

My dad got the sun and cloud from his weather lecture to go with my costume, but mama said she didn't care for them.

Halloween card from GranGlo and GranTom

Today I received a very nice Halloween card from my GranTom and GranGlo. It says,
From scarecrows to goblins to ghosts who shout "Boo!" There's no trick-or-treater who's loved more than you!

Thanks GranGlo and GranTom!

Bath time

I haven't been feeling well. They say I have a cold. My mom thought it would help me to have a bath with vapor bathwash, so we tried it. I don't know if it helped my cold, but it was fun to take a bath.

Another trip to the doctor

Well, mama took me back to Ballard Pediatric Clinic today. We were going to go for a walk, when I barfed all over myself and my car seat. My mom worries about me, and she didn't understand that I just wanted to get the yucky medicine out. We saw Dr. Telzrow and he said that I'm fine. I liked him and I like the pretty nurses that work there. Mama says that I'm a flirt.

Sleeping at Lighthouse

My dad was on his way to work, so mom and I took him to Lighthouse. I wasn't feeling well so I slept through the whole thing. My mama can't believe I am comfortable, but I'm just fine!

Green Bean Coffeehouse

Mama and I went to a new coffeehouse. This doesn't replace Lighthouse, it augments it. The new place is called The Green Bean and it's about 12 blocks away. Mama took me there in the baby rolling cart. She got some yummy soup and coffee. We liked it and will probably go back with some of our friends. Sorry we didn't get any pictures.

Gasworks Park

My mama and dad took me for my first visit to Gasworks Park. It was a fine, bright autumn day. I slept through most of our visit but my folks promised we would return for another look.

Reading Chair

My dad found a camp chair for me. We set it up next to the bookcase in my room. My mom likes to read to me while I sit in my chair with Samuel.

Autumn Jackets

It's autumn, and it's getting chilly outside. My family keeps jackets on a hook near the backdoor. Now I have my own hook for my jacket.

A big day

I had a big day. I went to Lighthouse with my folks, then we rode the bus downtown. While my dad worked, my mama took me to see the new WaMu Center - it's fancy!

Then we went to my dad's work and I got to see all my fans there. Then we all went to Pabla Indian Cuisine for Carrie's birthday. My friend Carmelita took some photographs of Carrie's birthday lunch - happy birthday Carrie!

Then we went home, but not for long. My mom and I went to a local eatery, the Barking Dog, to meet another coop mom and kid, Stacey and Chloe.

Whoo wee! I like having lots to do! We even finished off the day with a walk to the stupa. It was a great day!

My first 'word' !!!

A few days ago, I said my first word! I said her-brerrr. I thought I was being very clear, but my dad didn't get it. So I said it about fifteen more times. Her-brerrr, her-brerrrr! My mom knows me well, and she was able to translate. Of course, I was trying to say homebrew! homebrew! My dad is very very proud.

Cool outfit from Chris and Melissa

Chris and Melissa gave me this cool outfit. I've been wearing it a lot, since my mom says I'm going to outgrow it someday.

Thanks Chris and Melissa!

PEPS babies

My family is participating in a group called Program for Early Parent Support. This was our second meeting and it was fun. There are lots of babies there, and the mom's and dad's get to talk about us. I got my diaper changed at the same time as Gloria. Her dad does it the same as my dad.

L-R: Harry, me, Beckett, Sophia, Gloria and Cornelia.

Hangin' out with Dad

This morning I was hangin' out with my dad.

Feelin' a whole lot better

I'm feeling a lot better now. Fever is gone, and I'm back to normal. Doctor said I have to keep taking that medicine for another week. It tastes bad, but my mama helps me get it down.

My mama took me to see Dr. Allen this afternoon. He thinks it's nothing to worry about, but just in case he is having us go to get more tests done.

We went to the coffeeshop this morning and I got to sit in my dad's lap.

Feelin' kinda punky

Sorry I haven't stayed in touch. I haven't felt much like blogging the last few days. Turns out it is not a cold, but a bladder infection. My mom and dad are giving me medicine, which doesn't taste very good.

Morning visit to Lighthouse

Sometimes my dad wants a ride to the coffeeshop, so my mama and I took him this morning. I feel a lot better after my mom gives me Tylenol.

Turtle told a joke, and me and my dad cracked up. Turtle is funny!

Uhg, I have a cold

They keep saying I have a cold, but I feel hot. Sometimes this world doesn't make any sense. My mama keeps giving me Tylenol, helps a lot. Went to the doctor, he said I have a cold. Hmmff! I'm not cold!

My mama took me to my usual doctors office, Ballard Pediatrics. It was the first time I met this particular doctor, Dr. Telzrow. I liked Dr. Telzrow a lot.

Also, while I was there I got weighed, and we were told I am now 11 pounds, 6 ounces. This impressed my mama a lot.

Visit to the zoo

Mama took me for a walk through the zoo. It was fun! We saw monkeys, a duiker, a jaguar, and the penquins. Grandpa John gave us the membership to the zoo. Thanks Grandpa John!

Playing with Uncle Bob

Uncle Bob visited Saturday night. It was great to see him!

My dad helps me post the videos. He says Google Video is broken today, so this time we are trying YouTube. Same thing, only different.

Birthday photo - 3 months today!

This is my three month birthday! On my birthday, my mom and dad like to take my picture with Samuel in Big Red Chair.

Stripey Boy

Mama's friends Rachel and Tony gave me this cool stripey outfit months ago. I'm finally big enough to wear it.

Thanks Rachel and Tony!

Woke up on the wrong side of the bed

It's sunny outside, but my parents are being slow to get going. Makes me cranky! Half the day is already gone!

My dad is home sick with a cold today, but we still went to Lighthouse in the afternoon. I like it there.

Jesse and Sean visit

Cousin Sean and Jesse visited us yesterday! My dad was at work, and he was very sorry he missed them. But mama and I had a great visit. I slept while Jesse held me - mmmm, good nap!
