Open House at Fire Station 21

Fire Station 21 had an open house this afternoon. The stormy weather let up for awhile and lots of people came to have a look.

The station has been serving the Phinney Ridge neighborhood for a long time. Click to see a list of Seattle fire stations. If you then click on the little picture for Station 21 you can see a photograph of the original station taken in 1916. Soon they will tear down the current building construct a new, modern Fire Station 21.

My dad and I inspected the fire truck from every angle.

My mama and I got in the cab of the fire truck. You can see I'm wearing my sock mittens.

Firefighter Joey puts me up in the driver seat!

I wasn't even scared. Thanks Fire Station 21!

Wow. Now THAT'S a shiny, red sight for ya! How does it feel to sit in the driver's seat of that big red powerhouse? Holy cow! Surely does look like some great fun checking out that fine and exciting life-saving machine. I'll bet that truck has seen some action.
