Field trip to the zoo

My class went on a field trip to the zoo! We saw gorillas, birds, giraffes, lions (roar!) and lots more!

At the entrance getting ready.

Cornelia and I held hands.

A giraffe. My dad says that giraffe's say Ahem. That is what they say. Ahem.

Whoa! That giraffe is the real deal!

Cornelia and her dad.

Isaac and his dad.

Vida and her mama.

Dane and his Grandpa.

TIGER, tiger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

This is such a good poem that it is a shame not to complete it. And it is, by the way, GranGlo's favorite poem, I believe (but I could be wrong). So here are the remaining stanzas.

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?

And what shoulder and what art
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand and what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? What dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And water'd heaven with their tears,
Did He smile His work to see?
Did He who made the lamb make thee?

Tiger, tiger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

-William Blake, The Tiger

It looks like good fun meeting all those good people at the zoo. I read animal lips, and I would swear that the giraffe said, "Ahem, excuse me please, but could you direct me to the nearest savannah? I must have made a wrong turn at Albuquerque."

That giraffe was actually in the giraffe jail! All the other giraffes were out in the savanna playing. I dont know why he was in jail but it made it easy to see him up close.
