Whew, this wheat is a lot of work! But it's fun. Well, my dad says it's fun.
A couple of weeks ago, when Grandma Barb was here, we harvested the wheat. My dad collected the seed heads and put them in a box in the basement to dry.
Yesterday my dad showed me how to thresh the wheat. Dad appears to be an expert.
Today we winnowed it by tossing it in the air. The wind blew away the chaff so that we were left with the grain. This worked, er, okay.
Not a bad haul. Dad is going to finish winnowing, then we gotta grind it!
Kyra's mama has a photo site with more pictures from a couple of parties and the parade. Here is a link to her Purple Parties Flickr page. It's Purple Parties because all us kids are in the CDC Purple Room. Thank you!
We went camping with Beckett! It was fun. We threw rocks in the river, played trucks, ate hot dogs, and fended off a mountain lion with our bare hands! Well, we didn't really see a mountain lion, but if we had we would have given that lion what for!

Every week I look forward to Wednesday morning. That's the time that Rodney comes by to collect our garbage. Every week he waves and honks the horn on his big green truck.
Rodney also waves and honks for Mason and Jack Dee. He's the best.
Uncle Bob (I call him the guy with the boat) and Aunt Barb bought a house on San Juan Island. Mama, Grandma Barb and I went up there for a visit. Thanks for having us! Here are some pictures from our trip.
